A trio of promotions aims to streamline the company's Americas and Global Business Group organizations.
September 9, 2026
By: Sam Brusco
Zimmer Biomet announced leadership appointments that aim to streamline its Americas and Global Business Group organizations.
Beginning October 1, Gary Campbell will be promoted to president, Americas and Brian Hatcher elevated to President, Recon, S.E.T., CMFT, Neuro and Biosurgery. Bradley Kessler was also promoted to President, Americas—Robotics, Technology, and Data.
Kevin Thornal, group president of Global Businesses and the Americas will depart from the company because of the restructuring.
“On behalf of the entire Zimmer Biomet team, I want to thank Kevin for his leadership and contributions to our company, said CEO Ivan Tornos. “We wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
As president, Americas, Gary Campbell will oversee commercial strategy across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
Campbell has been Zimmer Biomet’s vice president and general manager of Orthopedics—North America since September 2024. Since joining the company in 2019, he’s held several commercial leadership roles, following sales and marketing positions at Enovis.
As President, Recon, S.E.T., CMFT, Neuro and Biosurgery, Brian Hatcher will oversee global portfolio strategy, expanding his remit to include Global Knees and Hips.
During his 16 years at Zimmer Biomet, Hatcher has held leadership roles spanning research, marketing, general management, and business operations. He became a Global President in 2021 and currently leads S.E.T. and CMFT. Earlier in his career, he had roles at OrbusNeich and Medtronic.
As President, Americas—Robotics, Technology and Data, Kessler will lead commercial strategy and growth for Zimmer Biomet’s robotics, digital, and technology portfolio, as well as its global service and capital solutions business. He will also oversee expansion of the specialized robotics salesforce ahead of the expected 2027 launch of the Monogram next-generation orthopedic robot, which the company acquired in October 2025.
Kessler boasts over 20 years of orthopedic commercial experience, including multiple leadership roles at Zimmer Biomet since joining in 2015. He previously spent nearly a decade in sales at Stryker.
“We talk often about our People and Culture strategic imperative to have the right talent, in the right roles, at the right times,” said Tornos. “These well-deserved promotions do exactly that, while helping to accelerate our U.S. go-to-market transformation and sharpen ownership of our most important commercial priorities. Gary, Brian and Brad are seasoned operators and proven Zimmer Biomet leaders with deep experience in the businesses and markets they will now lead. Their promotions reinforce my strong confidence in both our 2026 outlook and our growth potential in 2027 and beyond.”
